Dr. Sullivan is delighted to work with students 6 years old through adults of any age and ability. Her love of teaching and figuring out the best pedagogical approaches to each student’s individual needs ensures that each student is engaged to their full capacity. The viola literature she selects is carefully crafted and is proven to move students forward leaving no deficit in their technical/musical knowledge. The repertoire is progressive, working from easy to more difficult with scales, etudes and pieces in a smooth process so that the student almost does not realize how much they are improving in a short amount of time.
Performance is a skill that Dr. Sullivan helps each student master as performance can be applied to other areas in a person’s life as well such as public speaking, giving presentations and engaging people in general. There is a mental/emotional component for each person to figure out in order to become a practiced and confident performer and Dr. Sullivan works to provide these opportunities in a safe, methodical way as students develop their skills to strengthen their performing abilities.
