Dr. Jennifer H Sullivan
Artistic Director
Dr. Jennifer Sullivan is an award-winning soloist and chamber musician consistently producing students who win scholarships and awards. She is a composer/arranger who innovates exciting new works as well as creates pedagogical tools to enrich the musician’s practice experience.
Dr. Sullivan is currently Artistic Director of AxialMusic, is Development Director for Idaho Regional Ballet (IRB), and sits on the Josh Miles Family Wealth Advisory Board. She has held the positions of String Department Head of the Sun Valley Summer Symphony Education Department Division, Affiliate Instructor of Strings at Northwest Nazarene University and President of Boise Tuesday Musicale. She has extensive experience performing, teaching and administrating for music organizations across the U. S. and abroad. Her formal education includes two violin performance degrees (BM/MMPRL) from the Eastman School of Music, in Rochester, NY, and her doctoral degree (DMA) with an Arts Administration supporting area from the University of Oregon in Eugene.
Dr. Sullivan has performed solos with the Eastman Philharmonia, San Francisco Concerto Orchestra, Idaho State Civic Symphony, Treasure Valley Symphony, Meridian Symphony, Ballet Idaho and many others. An avid chamber musician, her quartet placed semifinalist in the National Fischoff Chamber Music Competition and she has extensive training in chamber music from coaches including Isaac Stern, Charles Castleman, and the Juilliard Quartet.
Dr. Sullivan has performed in numerous concert series in New York, San Francisco, New Mexico, and Idaho. An advocate of composers, she has performed and recorded numerous modern compositions as well and is consistently sought after to perform and teach at summer festivals and educational institutions.
An experienced concertmaster and leader, she has formerly held titled positions in the Eugene Symphony, Erie Philharmonic, Corvallis Symphony, World Youth Symphony Orchestra, Pacific Chamber Symphony, Classical Philharmonic, North Bay Opera, West Bay Opera, Fredonia Chamber Players, and Meridian Symphony.
Jennifer and her husband, John Sullivan, are the parents of one daughter. She enjoys both an urban and outdoor lifestyle, including tennis, gardening, cooking and attending arts events.
