Lessons at AxialMusic will enhance your knowledge and increase your enjoyment of playing both solo works with piano in recitals and in orchestras. The cello is a powerful instrument like no other, and our teachers know how to maximize the cello’s unique position as a soloist and in ensembles.
Our students regularly win awards at State Solo events and with the National Federation of Music Clubs, college scholarships, solos in concerto competitions, placement in competitive orchestras including All-Northwest and All-State Orchestras, leadership positions in their local orchestras, and in general surpass their peers of the same age in their technical/musical skills.
Our teachers are delighted to work with students 6 years old through adults of any age and ability. Our instructors love teaching and specialize in determining the best pedagogical approaches for each student’s individual needs ensures that each student is engaged to their full capacity. The cello literature is carefully selected to move students forward leaving no deficit in their technical/musical knowledge. The repertoire is progressive, working from easy to more difficult with scales, etudes and pieces in a smooth process so that the student almost does not realize how much they are improving in a short amount of time.
Performance is a skill that our instructors help each student master as performance skills can be applied to other areas in a person’s life as well such as public speaking, giving presentations and engaging people in general. There is a mental/emotional component for each person to figure out in order to become a practiced and confident performer and our teachers work to provide these opportunities in a safe, methodical way as students develop their skills to strengthen their performing abilities.
